April tells Andy that they can go somewhere else, but Andy seems uncomfortable about their age difference and leaves. When the bartender notices April is underage, he kicks them out. They both appear, smiling, on the cover of the Summer 2010 Catalog and go to a bar together.
In Summer Catalog, Andy and April grow closer. April reveals her feelings for Andy to Leslie during the moment of vulnerability before the possum is captured. In The Possum, April and Leslie Knope both, in a moment of terror, are hiding from the presumed Fairway Frank. Soon after, Andy plays a song dedicated to April.
They respond by saying that April is different after hanging out with Andy, prompting April to break up with her boyfriend. In Galentine's Day, April is ticked off with her boyfriend and his boyfriend during the Senior's dance. April's boyfriend and his boyfriend both mock Andy, which motivates April to stay away from Andy more often. April assists Andy in order to be closer to be closer to him. In Sweetums, Andy helps Tom Haverford move out of his house. She gets hired as Ron Swanson's assistant. In The Set Up, April can't wait to leave the Parks Department after her internship, but that changes when she realizes that staying at the Parks Department is the perfect way to stay near Andy.
The next time they see each other, April gives Andy a perfect Christmas Present. In Christmas Scandal, April asks Andy what she should get for her Gay Boyfriend, and is genuinely happy to be talking to Andy. Andy and April play games like Marco Polo while the rest of the crew is gone, and April hints that she likes Andy. Andy laments to April how Ann Perkins (his ex-girlfriend) and Mark Brendanawicz (Ann's boyfriend) are going on a hunting trip together. In Hunting Trip, Andy and April are left behind during the hunting trip.
